George Edward Freeney Jr. grew up in Amarillo, Texas, and the people who know him the best may still refer to him as George Jones or “Jonesy”.

He often speaks of “sneaking out” at night in High School to paint the Cadillacs at the Cadillac Ranch as a child in the 80’s.

Today, the Cadillac Ranch is visited by thousands of national and international visitors and tourists each year to share their painted expressions by spraying painting the Cadillacs.

In 2019, while home on visit, George made an image of the Cadillac Ranch he titled “66th and West Texas Street Painter”.  It was inspired by a young man who asked if he could place his new Bicycle in George’s scene, and he share the story of saving his money for 3 years to get this very specific Bike.

“66th and West Texas Street Painter” is George’s connection image and prize in his personal collection.
